A quiet place to work. A year and two months ago, I lost something that not many people have. Joshua LeBlanc was my cousin, but he was actually my little brother and the kind of friend you expect that you’re going to travel through life with. Everything was Brit and Josh, and then it became Chase, Brit, and Josh. I rarely ever made a decision that didn’t include him. In all of the multi-year span of uncertainty of where we are going to live, I walked into those home tours wondering where I would put him when he visited. Would it have enough space to fit his friends if he needed to have a party? I lost an idol, I lost a friend, lost the safety of having a place I can count on to stay, every option I put my whole heart and mind into falls through. 2025 and 2026 have been years dealing with nothing but compounding loss and trying to learn the resilience to keep going. This blog is also me bottling up a part of Strike that doesn’t exist anymore. Strike will never be a dock diver in the same context I describe here. It’s a memory. A lovely one, but we moved on and focused on different things. NADD gave us a lot, but they were all values we had to extract ***out*** of it. The organization has no love for sportsmanship or its competitors. I will treat it in kind. Dogs burn bright and burn out quickly, but his time was much shorter than it needed to be. He still needed to get Premier jumps recorded in NADD. He was becoming much more consistent in Master AR. I found myself intentionally capping off his practice and starting him short to qualify him in Senior, because we were working on 19ft, and that's simply how you have to play the game. He was working on solidfying his place in Senior HD. If we compete again to the same intensity we had before, it would most likely be under UAD. We have such a wealth of knowledge about dock diving, but for now, it will quietly remain here. Mill Pond Kennels sold their local facility. They were a luxury that made Strike’s success, but it’s a tease: they are moving just far enough to make it impossible to contribute to them in the same way we had in the past. The bottleneck to enter Lafayette after work is the same as trying to deal with the bottleneck into Baton Rouge. Everyone on this end has to pass it, so nobody can. MPK will be the typical 'square off 70% of your Saturday' style trip, sleep for the rest of it, paired with uncertainty, so it’s driven our decision to build our own personal dock when we finally break ground on something, but much of that will depend on Banshee's future. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/39/59/39593afa-ba64-496e-ae23-78133a2d4333/content/images/2026/09/IMG_9566-1.JPG) Josh and baby Strike.
